Ghana

Ghana is a country of 17 1/2 million people, adjoining the Atlantic coast in West Africa. Once known as the Gold Coast because of its many productive gold mines, Ghana today is one of the more stable countries in sub-saharan Africa. In July President Obama chose Ghana as the first African nation to visit during his presidency.
